![]() The Blackcap is an old-world warbler familiar in British gardens during spring and summer. The adult female, shown in the blurry photo above, is mostly gray-brown, with a rufous cap; adult males have the black cap that gives the species its common name. The picture below shows a juvenile female, with the rufous cap less bright; a juvenile male would have a gray cap. |
